Ashley Ellison

EventS Committee (Co-Chair)

"It is what it is. When things don't always go your way, don't let that upset you. Learn to be flexible, live in the moment, and don't let little things control the outcome of your day."

Ashley Ellison serves as Co-Chair of the MMTA Events Committee. She is a teacher, a mom, an avid reader, and a dedicated trail runner.

Ashley is from Buffalo, WV, and teaches English in Putnam County. She
was an educational interpreter for deaf students for 8 years and has been teaching English for 5 years. Ashley has always loved teaching and helping people. Seeing a student grasp a concept or just be thankful for the positive influence she's had makes her job worth every minute.

Ashley helps plan events for MMTA while running back and forth to her daughter's basketball games. She loves being a mom and spending time with family and friends. Ashley's most memorable achievement was graduating from college while being a single parent and then continuing on to get her master's degree in teaching.

Ashley resides in Buffalo with her husband Martin, 3 children (Kylee, Logan, and Gavin), 2 dogs (Mocha and Nola), and her cat (Joy)

In her own words...

Why are you involved in MMTA?

I am an avid trail runner and love to build community and help others see the beauty and benefits of being out in nature.

If you could only pick one activity on the trails, what would it be?

Running. Running, to me, is a way to put all worries and troubles behind.  When I'm in the woods, I can clear my mind, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and exercise all at the same time.  Running trails very peaceful.

What is something no one else knows about you?

I'm fluent in sign language because it was my job for so many years.

Building Trails, Building Community.
