Darrel Dorsey, JR brings his grit and determination to the Hurricane Hundred K

The Hurricane Hundred K welcomes Darrel Dorsey, Jr. to the 2024 edition of the race. Darrle is a 39-year-old husband and father of two, living in Frederick, MD, and working as an accountant by day and a running coach by night.

Darrel is the son of a marine who grew up on a farm. He credits his dad and his upbringing for his ability to endure hard things.

In the world of long-distance running, Darrel came out swinging and won two of his first six races and was third in the other four. He has some very impressive finishes, including the Rim to River 100, where he was fourth, third, and second in that order and finished in 17:21:19 in 2023! He has the course record at the Pemberton 24-hour event, where he ran 135 miles, and a course record at the Dark Side 8-hour event in 2022.  Darrel also competed in the Spartan Race World Championships in 2016 and 2017.

Darrel has had strong runs at many races and formats, and we’re excited to have him and his family at the Hurricane Hundred K!
